Job in Tokyo

Recently , Rakuten Inc. recruited 9 students from Comp Sci of VJTI Mumbai and total around 15 including other college friends. I'm one of them.

We are offered a salary of 300,000 yen p.m. All of us have some doubts..

How is Japan regarding work, culture, people ?

Is it OK to start a career, with such basic salary in Japan ?

What amount of salary we will be paying through taxes?

Is saving up to 100,000 yen p.m. is possible if we live together (NO drinking, partying assured) ? If yes, can it be increased more? If no, how much we can save?(most of us here live in hostel with max expenditure 3000 Rs p.m. excluding living and food)

How is Rakuten viewed as a Company in Japan?(Company profile)

After couple of yeas of experience what are our chances of getting good Job/ promotion(general case) ?

If some of us want to do Masters or MBA while working, is it possible in Tokyo?

They will be providing us commutation passes every six months.
They are providing us housing accommodation with 80,000 yen p.m.
Also , while on Job one time breakfast and Lunch is included.


They are providing us language training for 6 months after completing BTech (June 2010) and Job start from 1st Jan 2011. Stipend while training is 25000 Rs.

Also, company is planning to expand its horizons overseas. So, if they plan to come to India, we will be given preferences.

I know it is a big list questions... but after all its our career's question?
So, please help regarding above queries..even if found stupid...
